This conference will give attendees the opportunity to actively engage leaders in policy, industry and academia about issues key to America's energy future. This conversation will go beyond policy discussions with a distinct focus on how participants can start or grow their own energy venture.
Panels and topics will include: renewable technologies, markets and policies; the energy water nexus and challenges; energy and agriculture, algal biofuels and biomass; solar and wind research; energy storage and land use; micro-grid and smart-grid systems; oil and natural gas, nuclear power, new partnerships, and How do we start?

The NMSU College of Engineering has integrated several Centers of Excellence, including a consortium for environmental education and technology development, a renewable energy resource development group, and a nuclear waste management and monitoring center to form the Institute for Energy and the Environment. The Institute is a multidisciplinary, energy sector resource serving the Southwest and beyond.
